West Cornwall – a tropical piece of England.
A vacation to the tropics you could almost say but in England, its south-west to be precise. Cornwall, also known as the “English Riviera”, is known for its mild climate. This “tropical” piece of England where even palm trees and other (sub-) tropical plants grow is the ideal holiday destination. Walking in West Cornwall Along the coast you will find the South West Coast Path. This runs from Minehead over the point to Haven Point in Dorset. In total, the South West Coast Path is no less than 420 kilometres long.
Originally this walkway was used by the coast guard who searched for smugglers. Along the route you will find all kinds of small houses where the coastguards used to live. Walk along idyllic coastal pictures and enjoy the beautiful panorama. Of course you will find more than enough places along the route to stay overnight. St. Ives Clear blue sea water, tropical temperatures in summer, small fishermen’s houses and a bustling port …. You would almost think that you are somewhere on the Mediterranean Sea but this is also Great Britain! St. Ives is an idyllic town in the south-west of Cornwall and a well-known location for many artists. This way you will find many studios, studios and shops. Besides St. Ives there are more beautiful places to visit in this region.
