Welcome to Mousehole Camping

Welcome to Mousehole Camping and Glamping, a small, family and dog friendly camp site based at local football club Mousehole AFC, which is situated near the village of Paul, Penzance in beautiful West Cornwall.

Our summer camping season runs from April to mid-September. Our site is ideal for campervans, tents and small motorhomes (7m max) but please note that we do not accept caravans and we are NOT suitable for larger motorhomes as the approach roads from Penzance are narrow and there is a short steep ramp at the site entrance.

We welcome small groups, walkers, cyclists and campers looking for a quiet ‘Cool Camping’ campsite in a great Cornish location. Well behaved dogs and their well behaved owners are welcome! Please note that we are a family campsite and operate a ‘quiet campsite’ policy between 11pm and 7am – so if you want to party through the night then please look elsewhere for a busier site!

FACILITIES
Facilities on site include free wi-fi, hot showers, washing-up area, a community freezer,  free phone charging points and ample car parking for additional vehicles. We provide 35 pitches, 24 of which are large, flat grass pitches and 11 are all-weather hardstandings. All of our pitches have the option of an electric hook up for your convenience at an extra £5 per night. The shower, toilet and washing-up facilities are a short walk around the football pitch. The camping showers are in the football changing rooms and the showers are separated by shower curtains to provide privacy.

ACCESSIBILITY
We provide an accessibility toilet / shower / wet room that can be accessed but be aware that some of the access surfaces around the ground are uneven which does not make it ideal for wheelchairs.

GLAMPING
We provide pre-erected Boutique Bell tents (sleeping 4 persons) as a family Glamping option. Pitched on flat and spacious plots our Bell Tents are ideal for families or for couples wanting that Cornish Glamping experience!
All of our Bell tents come with raffia carpets, flocked inflatable mattresses, electric sockets, bedside light and fan heater. Please bring your own bedding, towels and cooking equipment.

BBQ’s
You can borrow a BBQ and small fires are permitted as long as they are raised off the ground. For your convenience we keep a stock of firewood on site that we sell to raise funds for the local RNLI Penlee Lifeboat station. We have a fully licenced clubhouse which is open on matchdays.

MOUSEHOLE AFC
We share our facilities with the up and coming football club – Mousehole AFC of the Southern Football League – and all of your camping fees go back into the club including support to over 150 youngsters in the youth development section. There are occasional football matches that begin in mid-July and all campers get free entry to all home matches. The showers are out of action for a short time whilst the matches take place but there are toilets that are always available for use and the clubhouse is open for pasties and pints!

COST OF PITCHES
Summer Season – April to mid-September.
Motorhome pitches from £35/night; Campervan pitches from £30/night;
Grass tent pitches from £25/night;
Walkers and cyclists from £10 per person. (to guarantee a space please text us in advance 07470 920006)
All pitches have the option of an electric hook-up at an additional £5 per night.

WINTER OPENING

From mid-September through to the end of March we make 11 hardstanding pitches available at low season prices to give self-contained campervans and motorhomes touring Cornwall a place to stay with an electric hook-up.

Note, however, that our facilities are limited for the off season and our site is suited towards self contained motorhomes. Toilets, elsan and water are still available.

Nearby

A 500 metres walk takes you into the heart of the traditional village of Paul, which has a historic Church, an unspoilt pub with great food, drink and weekly live music, and a bus service from Penzance to Lands End.

A short downhill walk, giving you spectacular panoramic views over Mounts Bay, leads to the iconic and much-photographed harbour-side village of Mousehole, with its bustle of small boats, fascinating narrow streets of centuries-old stone cottages, an interesting range of small shops, galleries, cafes, restaurants and pubs, easy access to the south-west coast path in both directions, as well as various festivals and events in the summer months.

The larger town of Penzance is a couple of miles away, providing the usual array of ‘High Street’ retailers, including supermarkets, food outlets and banks, together with many local independent shops, a regular ferry-boat as well as a helicopter service to the beautiful Isles of Scilly, a main-line railway station, plentiful taxis and bus routes to most parts of West Cornwall, a recently refurbished sea-front open-air pool with a heated section, and a short walk across the causeway at low tide to St Michael’s Mount.  There’s also a 24-hour ‘urgent care’ Hospital, GP surgeries, pharmacies, a leisure centre and cinema.

Easily reachable on foot, by car or public transport are the popular Sennen Cove, Lamorna Cove, Porthcurno and St Ives to name but a few.

Between Mousehole and Penzance lies Newlyn, home of a large fishing fleet, an annual fish festival and several fresh fishmongers, as well as cafes, pubs and restaurants.  The RNLI Penlee Lifeboat is situated here, its open days providing some hands-on experience and illustrating its remarkable and often tragic history.

And of course literally next to Mousehole Camping is Mousehole AFC, a friendly and progressive non-league football club, with a welcoming clubhouse and an increasing reputation as one of the best clubs, both on and off the field, in Cornwall!

Well we had a fantastic couple of days at Mousehole camping thanks to Paul and Sue. We phoned on the day before we were due....on the Jubilee weekend and Sue found us a great pitch. The campsite is very well maintained and the owners couldn't do enough for us, even supplying us with some firelighters matches when we had run out. We were also impressed with the upcycling area and free mobile phone charging points.We would highly recommend the site and cant wait to return.Andy and Sam .

Great little campsite! When we arrived the campsite absolutely shattered from a long day backpacking the coast path, it was a lovely surprised that the wonderful people who run the campsite let us use their bell tent for no extra charge! As I was hiking the coast for charity they only asked I pay the backpacking fee onto my fundraiser instead which was so nice of them! We had power sockets (which was needed!) and loads of room, was a lovely thing to do for us. Facilities were great and lovely warm showers. Highly recommend!

Super clean showers, toilets and anything else you could think of. The showers were really hot and powerful - better than our ones at home! The people that run it are very friendly and although some people moan about the “hike” to the toilets, it takes like 2 minutes. There’s nothing that could be improved and it’s the best campsite we’ve ever been to

Nice quiet campsite, but the facilities were rubbish. The one shower and toilet is shared with Mousehole Football Ground and is a long walk from the pitches. It was £25 with electric which in our opinion is expensive compared to some of the excellent sites we have stayed at with much better facilities.

Basic pop up site but clean and tidy. We hired a bell tent 🎪 with loads of room for 4. Facillicities are based on the club changing rooms! Hot showers washing facilities work. Welcoming and knowledgeable site team, so do ask if local info required. Dogs welcome on a lead.
